New Lawn and Grading

  • Hydro-Seeding: Best for new lawn installations on bare earth areas where the existing grade, soil depth and soil quality are satisfactory. For new construction sites or uneven terrain, we provide site preparation including sub-grading for proper drainage, installation of screened topsoil, and finish grading.
  • Over-Seeding: Over-seeding is often the best option for thin, damaged, or spotty areas in existing lawns where the grade and soil depth are satisfactory. Following core aeration, your entire lawn or specific problem areas will be power-seeded with a premium-quality grass seed blend which is appropriate for your site conditions. Thinner areas will receive heavier seed applications.
  • Sod Installation: You’ll get instant results with bluegrass sod. Sod can be installed at any time during the growing season. Please note that sod will not thrive without consistent watering, sufficient sunlight, and ongoing maintenance. Sod is not recommended for shady or non-irrigated sites.

Landscape Renovations & Design

Updating your home’s landscaping is a great way to increase the value of your property and create outdoor spaces for relaxing and entertaining. Whether you want to focus on increasing your curb appeal with a reimagined front yard, create a backyard retreat with dining and entertaining areas, or both, there are many options and features to consider.
A successful landscape design starts with a detailed and well-thought-out plan. While it can be tempting to dive right in to your renovation, investing the time and budget upfront to map out your entire space will help ensure a cohesive, long-lasting design — and often save time and money in the process.

A landscape master plan, also called a site plan, is a detailed scaled drawing that shows everything in a landscape’s overall design. It includes the site’s orientation and conditions, plant material and mulch, and soil, drainage and slope issues. The plan also contains the design’s hardscape and structural elements — with specified materials for each — along with the planting plan and house location. The master plan shows the specifics of solid design principles married to the aesthetic and function of the space.

Landscape designers are not licensed, although they may have similar or the same training as a landscape architect. They also might specialize in plant choices as well as design.

Before you meet with TLC Landscapes, think about what you want for your finished landscape. Include both practical considerations and features you would love to include if possible.
